In 1986, the delegates of the Oregon Conference constituency in session established the Oregon
Conference Education Endowment Fund. The endowment fund was established as an investment fund with the goal of providing an annual income to assist qualified students. The principal of the endowment fund is irrevocable and only the income generated can be used for financial assistance.
Why is an Education Endowment Fund necessary?
The Education Endowment Fund is a positive way to “touch the future” by providing resources for many young people to experience a quality Christian education in a Christian environment with dedicated staff. This fund does not take the place of financial assistance that comes from the churches. However, it does give that extra boost that is often necessary to keep some children in school.
How the program works
When you make an irrevocable gift to the Education Endowment Fund, the gift will be held in perpetuity in accordance with the established guidelines. The fund is administered by the Oregon Conference Association in harmony with established investment guidelines. The income from the fund is disbursed on an annual basis to each school based on the number of qualified Seventh-day Adventist students.

How much is in the fund?
The original goal of the Education Endowment Fund was a minimum of $5 million. The principal amount currently held in the fund is $2,728,530. Since distribution of earnings began, the fund has provided over $1,777,800 to financially assist eligible students in Oregon Conference schools. This has been a tremendous blessing and while it has made a substantial financial impact for many students much more could be done if we could reach our goal of at least $5 million or more.
